A study on improving decisions in closed set speaker identification

چکیده
In this study, closed-set, text-independent speaker identi cation is considered and the problem of improving the reliability of the decisions made by available algorithms is addressed. The work presented here is based on the idea of combining the evidences from di erent algorithms or decision strategies to improve the recognition performance and the reliability. For this purpose, the models generatedby a single algorithmfor 17 speakers from the SPIDRE database are considered and a matrix of speaker-to-model tness values is processed by two di erent decision strategies. Ideas from the Mathematical Theory of Evidence are applied to combine the decisions produced by these two strategies to generate a better decision on the speaker identity. The combined decision show an improved degree of corectness hence suggesting a promisingway of combining the decisions from partially successful algorithms.

Speaker identification for whispered speech based on frequency warping and score competition
In certain situations, talkers will intentionally use whisper instead of neutral speech for the sake of privacy or confidentiality, which severely degrades the performance of speaker identification systems trained with only neutral speech. There are considerable differences in the spectral structure between whisper and neutral speech due to an absence of voice harmonic excitation. This study in...
متن کاملDilemma in two game structures for a closed-loop supply chain under the influence of government incentives
The government organizations grant incentives to promote green product consumption, improve green product quality, boost remanufacturing activities, etc. through various policies. The objective of this study is to highlight pros and cons of two incentive policies, namely (1) incentive on manufacturer’s R&D investment and (2) direct incentive to consumer based on greening level of the product on...
متن کاملImproved Weighted Matching for Speaker Recognition
Matching algorithms have significant importance in speaker recognition. Feature vectors of the unknown utterance are compared to feature vectors of the modeled speakers as a last step in speaker recognition. A similarity score is found for every model in the speaker database. Depending on the type of speaker recognition, these scores are used to determine the author of unknown speech samples. F...
متن کاملSpeaker identification using minimum classification error training
In this paper we use a Minimum Classification Error (MCE) training paradigm to build a speaker identification system. The training is optimized at the string level for a text-dependent speaker identification task. Experiments performed on a small set speaker identification task show that MCE training can reduce closed-set identification errors by up to 20-25% over a baseline system trained usin...
متن کاملPosteriori probabilities and likelihoods combination for speech and speaker recognition
This paper investigates a new approach to perform simultaneous speech and speaker recognition. The likelihood estimated by a speaker identification system is combined with the posterior probability estimated by the speech recognizer. So, the joint posterior probability of the pronounced word and the speaker identity is maximized. A comparison study with other standard techniques is carried out ...
